I spent about 4 hours Wednesday night working on the fire wall. The hardest part is making sure that the strut is aligned and not rubbing against other metal. I had to open up the holes to get a good fit.

The lower bearing halves are drilled out to 3/16", but are still too tight to fit the AN3 bolts required, so I'll have to grab some reamers.

Tuesday I grabbed one of Kenmore's Super Cubs and took it for a spin up to Lake Isabel. Going any later in the year will be impossible thanks to the ice that will form. The story is that about 10 years ago Kenmore had a 172 that got stuck in the ice and couldn't get retrieved for several months until everything thawed out.
