Surprisingly, the light at the end of the tunnel was not a train.
After a nearly month long break, work is ready to continue on the CH701. The wing and fuel tanks kits were ordered in early October and should be shipping any day now.
The slats are lamentably still untouched, but Tuesday should resolve that.

Hi John,
I am ch701 enthusiast who is also building in your area(Puyallup). I am awaiting the arrival of my kit,due here Feb 15th. But, while waiting I discovered what I think will be of GREAT HELP in reducing the time of construction!!! It is at HomeBuiltHelp.com in the form of DVD called Building your CH701. So far they have just produced the Rear Fusalage and Rudder, but in my opinion after previewing the 2.5 hr rear fusalage dvd, I HAVE NOT DOUBT it wil save me MANY HOURS in the construction process and well worth the 40 bucks i spent for it. Just thought i would pass this along since you have yet to start on the fusalge.
Thanks for the advise. I was planning on buying the 701 fuselage DVD from Mr. Croke fairly soon. For the moment I really want to concentrate on the wings. It's the biggest challenge yet.
